Surgery Process |
| |
|
- You will get pre-operative medication that is tailored to your needs and is based upon current medical history such as possible allergic reactions, patient weight and other factors.
- The donor area and hair transplant recipient area will be numbed using local anesthetics
- We will measure and trim the donor area slightly.
- A saline solution will be injected into the scalp making it easier to obtain and remove the strips of tissue. The donor material is removed in the form of long strips of tissue using a single or multi-bladed scalpel (Just deep enough to include your living hair follicles).

Seamless Closure Technique |
| |
|
- Donor area is closed with surgical staples plus sutures to insure proper healing.
- This technique is minimally invasive and the incision is very hard to detect.
|
| #5 |
Microscope and backlight magnification is used to prepare individual follicular graft units. This insures the least damage and trauma to the natural follicular units. |
| |
|
- Follicular clusters are segregated in their natural 1,2,3 and 4 hair cluster/units. These grafts are then meticulously placed at the correct angle, direction and pattern of your original hair. Each Graft is carefully placed to allow enough blood to nourish every hair during the brief healing process (called recapilarization).

Microscopic Receptor Sites |
| |
|
- NewLookMD uses the finest surgical instruments available. Precision surgical needles are used to create the new receptor sites, resulting in a totally natural look once the follicular unit grafts are inserted.
- Surgical needles require more skill and patience to recreate your new hairline. This insures greater density and a more natural look is also achieved.

True Dense Packing |
| |
|
- Instead of minimum coverage causing you to return again and again, NewLookMD surgeons give you the maximum density that’s medically safe.
- Natural follicular graft units are placed as close as possible to each procedure stands on its own.
- Depending on the degree of hairloss, patients may require more than a single surgery to get the desired look. As you age and your hairloss continues, additional procedures may be advisable.
|
| #8 |
Hair Growth |
| |
|
- Approximately 98% of follicular/graft units survive and grow. You’ll see hair follicles appear to be growing within a week. These are actually the hairs that had been growing prior to being relocated to the bald area. Normally these old hair shafts will fall out (since most transplanted follicles go into the telogen or resting phase). Then about 90 days later they will start to grow new hairs!

Permanent Hair At Last |
| |
|
- As you continue with the recommended treatment, your hair will look thicker, denser and totally natural. You can schedule another procedure whenever you wish without looking “under construction”. Additional sessions can usually be done after 6 months. When the newly transplanted hair has begun to grow out.
|
| #10 |
Donor Optimization |
| |
|
- Each patient is limited by the quantity of donor hair available to relocate to the bald and thinning areas. Donor density and scalp laxity are the key factors in determining the total donor reserves for each patient.
- There’s a limit to the number of follicular units that can be transplanted. That’s why NewLookMD takes precise measurements of the hairloss pattern and factors in any potential future hairloss into your long term surgical plan.
